Eid Al-Aldha Al-Mubarak....

Speaking to my family back in Libya last night, they told me that they along with many people this year decided not to get a sheep because of two reasons, the news of the blue tongue disease that is apparently affecting many sheep in Libya at the moment and the other reason is because of the greed of people selling the sheep who have increased their prices much higher than usual, so my family thought the best and healthiest reason is to opt for meat from the butcher (I think they said chicken!!) while Eid will not be the same this year for many but look on the brighter side, it will be a lot less messy :o)

Wishing everyone a Happy, peaceful and Blessed Eid Al-Adha

Yeah, it’s not going to be the same for my family as well, we , this year, decided to share a camel with the big family.

Happy Eid, Anglo and everybody :)

Eid Mubarak to you and all your family.

Even though that sheep talk is only confined to the west of the country ( they are even taking sheep from the east and selling it at high prices in the west ) most of the people I spoke to told me it was at most only 20 sheep that were quarantined and that was like more than 3 weeks ago ..... the speculation is that maybe the people controlling the market fueled the rumor so as to increase the prices ..... in the west prices aren't that much different from before, from what I've seen.

We opted 4 the butcher too . Much easier even if not Sunna , they do say Bismelayhee over it so ....
Wishing you a great Eid . Hope you aren't too home sick .

I'm glad to hear you had a nice Ieed. I believe my family in Libya also didn't have sheep this year. Happy Ieed.
