Co-exist!! seems like such a joke these days, when I came to this country as a teenager I was faced with a much wider culture that included people of all colours and religions, as time went by I became more aware of other people's cultures and customs and I started to appreciate and respect everyone and learnt that we all can co-exist, that was something I was always proud of then things, bad things, started to happen yet I always tried to keep an open mind, the Israel-Lebanon war made me question many things and now after ceasefire was declared in the Israel-Gaza war, I am not sure if I can still believe in co-existence.We all watched the atrocities committed by the Israeli army in Gaza, we witnessed the biggest child massacre in recent history with more than 400 Palestinian children killed, yet we saw at the same time that almost all of the Israeli nation supported the killing, how can I co-exist with people like that? I used to believe it was possible, I am not sure any more! Of all the people in the world, the Jews were always singled out for the suffering they endured, no one should dispute their suffering and the massacres they suffered, they went through the Holocaust that is a fact but there are other facts that they try to hide or brush under the carpet, these are that many others suffered the same, gypsies, disabled people, people of other religions and different orientation were killed too but no one dares to talk about them, why is that?? why is it that what happened in Bosnia, Kosovo, Rowanda and other places is not called Holocaust? why cant the Jewish community accept that suffering was not exclusive to them? what happened to them was wrong but they can not force the world to feel guilty for ever and they must accept that any commemoration of the Holocaust must include other victims too including Palestinians.
Israel was outraged when the Vatican called Gaza a big concentration camp, outraged?!! what the Israeli army did was just like what the Nazis did, a genocide against helpless people, if they do not like to hear that then tough! wake up Israelis and smell the roses, your country is conducting war crimes and many of you are supporting it, supporting the use of illegal weapons such as White phosphorus and DIME bombs, doctors in Gaza are seeing new and dreadful types of injuries that they are not used to (check some of the awful pictures on My Being Days Blog) so again Israel is doing what the Nazis did, using the people of Gaza to try new weapons bought from America yet many Israelis talk about their own suffering while wearing designer sunglasses, drinking cappuccino outside their pretty street cafes and say that what we see on TV is nothing but Palestinian propaganda!! can we co-exist with these people?? can we co-exist with child murderers and their supporters?? I am not sure any more ....
For as long as Israel is occupying Palestinian land and for as long as Israel is treating Palestinians as subhuman beings and subjecting them to a continuous Holocaust, I can not see co-existence between Arabs & Israelis.

I remember his first to USA, he was hammered by the press regarding the Palestenian Cause, he handled it great.

I have never believed in Co-Existance with Israel, I can live with Jewish people no problem at all, but never with Israel ... it is a naive to think that the passage of time can turn the word wrong into right.
thank u Anglo for this realistic post.
Again Anglo-Libyan you hit the nail right on the head.
Correction & a Request
CORRECTION:
I remember his first visit to USA " Missing word on my comment"
REQUEST:
Please remove your restriction on posting comments on your blog, honestly you are depriving me of other readers intelligent and interesting comments as if it is becoming one way street dialogue. I have to admit you do post my comment as quickly as pssoible not like other Libyan bloggers who post their readers comments after few days or weeks & at the same time they post something new on their blog !!!!!!!
Please do remember the average person does not know how to post, gets scared when the blog asks for user and password :-)
If you receive a vulgar comment, just delete it. You have to remember being a popular blogger there is a price to pay :-)
Another thing you post every 3 days something new, your restriction is taking more time of you than before because you have to review every comment. Life is too short.

you are welcome enlightend spirit, I knew I wasnt alone.
CITM, thanks and the pictures you posted made me think a lot.
Anglo,
We can and must coexist !
What would we pass on on to future generations?? Duh ! you were lucky as you got to experience it first hand.
The Palestinian issue and blood shed is not the first to be witnessed with all Arabs and not looking and not lifting a finger !
Have you forgotten The Vietnam War ???Children were killed and slaughtered in the same manner or were they not ? America ended up with so many veterans suffering the aftermath .....
War is a cost we civilians pay where politicians living "la vita dolce" sit on their asses and make decisions costing the lives of young men and women who wouldve enjoyed a better and longer life!
True we live in a crazy world . To keep an open mind we should no get personal about such issues. What if we reversed the situation and Libyans were being bonmbared by whoever ? Do you really beleive the Arab Nations ,let alone the world would give a shit (sorry,Im mad )?? I think not !
As I mentioned eaerlier and do excuse me for using trashy lang. but there comes a time when one feels entangled in such a situation yet has to do provide support while expressing an opinion.
I truly enjoy your blog and thank you for bringing a good topic!
Again Anglo I beleive in what Obama said : " YES WE CAN "
Salamat
Ditto Dr.Enlightened Spirit, and I would like to add that many Jews around the world are against the crimes committed by the Zionist Entity against Arabs, like for example the group called Naturie Karta.
I would like to welcome Shahrazad, it’s always nice to see new gifted Libyan bloggers, had a look at your blog and it really is promising!
Thank you, Anglo-Libyan for providing this space, after a long disappearance I always love to come back by a comment on your continually interactive blog, keep it up :)

I am sure that my Palestenian nephew from Gaza is not thinking of co existence at this moment when he sees all this destruction on TV and maybe members of his family got killed during the last 3 weeks plus he is always worried that Egypt will deport his father to Gaza Strip since he finsihed his studies in Cairo many years ago.

People were dancing this dance after Obama speech
thank you Shahrazad, you make good points and I hope you are right.
of course my post is mainly about coexising with Israelis not the Jewish community which I never had a problem with.
nice to see again Khaled :o)
near where I live, some of the Orthodox community have signs outside their homes saying no to Zionists and yes to peace, plus many Jews come to the anti Israeli war marches as you can see in the pictures, good people come in every colour and religion.
Musiclover, hope inshaAllah your family in Gaza are well.
I like the hokey pokey dance, funny :o)
So sad really to see children watching other children bleeding to death or dead.....
No censorship here .
WHERE ARE THE PARENTS ????
A cry for help is needed -no doubt But children should be made to believe that the world is a great safe place and that they can make it no matter what.
I lost my husband and daughter ,in a car accident, so I know how it feels and still to this day have not forgotten them.I greive to the children who remain alive after witnessing thier parents being killed.
I wish I had died with my little family instead fate has it I didnt.God must have something good in store for me,as all my world was taken away, and God is testing me -I shall have to wait and see .
*Khalid and Anglo I thank you both for your support.
Anglo, I am sorry but I don't think you are quite just. Where are your references of Jews trying to brush under the carpet the Nazi extermination programs against other people in order to let the Holocaust stand alone? I have read many materials by disability activists about the T4 program, and some of the authors were Jews.
Knowing human nature, the way to coexist is one - force. T. Hobbs said it centuries ago. Leave people to their own devices, and there will soon be war of all against all. So, if Israeli-Palestinian coexistence is wanted, then somebody must force Palestinians to stop firing Qassams against Israelis. (The other possible application of force, i.e. forcing Israel to stop its military activities, will NOT bring coexistence because Palestinians, or at least their majority and those currently empowered, are strongly against coexistence with Israel.)
I wasn't going to comment because you know my opinion on the matter already, and also because I see you are so shocked by the numerous civilian Palestinian victims that it seems inappropriate, for the moment, to engage you in a discussion. However, I just cannot restrain when I see all commenters expressing and reinforcing one opinion in a positive-feedback fassion, and nobody mentioning or thinking of the Qassams... An eventual Jewish reader will of course think that Arabs want Israeli children killed and maimed by Palestinian rocket fire, and is likely to end up with the same question, "Is coexistence possible?".
I also don't agree with you that Egyptian people are blameless in this affair. As far as I know, the overwhelming majority of ordinary Egyptians (even the best ones) are strongly against opening the border with Gaza and letting civilian Palestinians take refuge in Egypt. I understand that this would be against the interests of Egypt, but this doesn't change the fact that Egyptians are behaving selfishly.
Shahrazad
I dont know what to say, I am sure your faith is strong, Allah be with you always.
Maya M
good to see you again
you know I am against any rockets fired but what I know that Palestinians are under occupation and seige, this created the problems of rockets being fired.
if Israel treated Palestinians with dignity, lifted the seige, removed illegal settlements and so on... there would be no people firing anything, then if that happened the whole world would stand by Israel and do not forget that Israel broke the cease fire on the 4th of November when they went inside Gaza and killed 6 Palestinians, this has been admitted even by some American politicians, Israel created the this problem and the only way out is to let Palestinians live like human beings just like anyone else.
my point about the Hollocaust was when here in the UK many Jews refused to let Hollocaust day be remmebered by all victims.
I have read many comments made by ordinary Egyptians against what their leaders did but im sure many behaved just as you said, do not forget that I have attacked the way Arab leaders behaved, they were selfish too.
any way as I said if there is no occupation and humiliation then there is no need for any aggression on any side, this is Israels decision, I am not with Hamas or anyone else, I just support the just cause of the Palestinan people.
as always you are always welcome here and thank you.
