Its that time of year again, the Easter school holidays started few days ago and all you keep hearing from the kids is " Baba I am bored!" as usual the problem is where to take them or what to do, actually the mistake is to do many things in one day because the next day you will again hear " Baba I am bored!".We had a nice day at the weekend, we went to see Monsters vs Aliens 3D , it was fun, the kids enjoyed it a lot, the 3D effects were the best I have seen so far, no wonder they make you pay an arm and a leg to watch it!
After the film we enjoyed a Turkish meal suitable only for carnivores as the monster plate we shared contained every imaginable piece of grilled meat, it was lovely.
Tomorrow Amir is invited to a Dr.Who kids party which should keep him happy, Aida was invited too but she chose not to go since its Amir's friend' party (Bilal) plus she has to study as she has a test at the Arabic school on Saturday.

It always seems that foreigners know how to use their free time in Libya were as locals want the entertainment to come to them. It is because they are lazy and do not want to learn about their own country, then you ask yourself why most photos of libya are by foreigners not Libyans. Typical Libyan whinners no matter they live in Libya or abroad.
I was shocked two days ago a Libyan friend that he was not aware of two places which I recommended to take his wife and kids to have fun and he has lived in Portland more than 25 years, I feel sorry for the kids because it seems that Arab parents their way of entertaining their kids is to visit other families with kids in their homes. I am 100% that my friend does not read his local newspaper, because every Friday there a huge Arts & Entertainment guide for adults and family, there are so many choices and the best part there are many free events.

When I read a Libyan blog, what I want is to be informed or make me happy. Even my comments on SimSim or Dream Libya were harsh but all I look are the positive points in them, SimSim wrote a post about being impolite, I do not mind her comment but my first positive point that person takes her kids to Skiing, I have never seen an Arab family in Portland taking their kids skiing, thats shows that SimSim the Blogger makes an extra effort to take kids to ski, though all Canadians iceskate.
As a reader my obligation is to be trutful in what I think, not give free compliments just to please the blogger or others.

I agree with you there are a lot of places here and we didn’t see at all. But the problem who allow us go and have fun time with our friends if they also their parents allow them go. Some of our parents have close mind and see these things wrong if we go outside alone and don’t carry about going outside or visit old places. Do you know what they say when children told their father can we have fun day out because they are in weekend or summer holiday , they say no we can’t WHY because he z busy and there are a lot of things he want to do it and tell them go to your grandparents house and if he say yes we can go choose places in the city not out and just spend 2 or 3 hours. And if we go with school we see same places. Here some people don’t care to see new places in their country or have fun days. Guys want know things about net , moble phone or sitting in streets. I will give you example 2 years ago there was some cafe and restaurant here opened ,ok and when some girls decided go to eat or drink some there , people see it something unusual and how they go with out their family and man can’t stand their women sit there around their a lot of people…. Our old people here said something ( you hand in water not as us in fire)

I don’t have any kids but with my research have chosen to be around what i call my kids as they are deaf and dumb ;sharing more or less the same handicap!
So they don’t get bored, a lot of planning and timing activities well,has to be taken into account which is similar to what you said . I do this not only in England but here in Tripoli as well; you'd be amazed how these children from different countries and backgrounds are nevertheless similar in all aspects :-)...

Here in Tripoli many families do take their kids out and have plans for them;teaching them English and computer skills is the priority . With these two skills children can be part of the world and improve on their living standards for the future. You'd be surprised at how many activities are now being made for the coming summer holidays.....things are changing though at a slow pace ,still for the betterment of all...

being honest or truthful as you say has nothing to do with the harshness you comment with . .. Libyan Bloggers are new to this field and need be encouraged not suppressed and made fools of...
You live in the west and have your day planned as you wish and it goes according to your time slots....here the opposite is true..nothing goes to plan..

You have a point regarding the females as for guys there are no excuses.
Racism does exist in every person but differs in the level of racism in each person or how far they are outspoken about or the degree of tolerance of other ethnic groups, our bias is based mostly on ignorance or the degree we can co exist together in each society and how much we can accept the other group life style which is normal for them but not for us.
Is USA is a melting pot where everybody comes from different part of the world with their own identity and culture except for the American Blacks who were brought to USA by force as slaves in the past, their identity and culture were left behind, they have nothing to fall for when it comes to heritage and culture, that why they invented in their new land the new kind of Music which is Jazz,Blues and Rock Roll. Unfortunately the city councils in USA are racist in their policy when it comes in developing Black neighbourhoods, we could see it when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, to me the city is one big ghetto and each year it gets worse but also the black community is also to blamed for the conditions of blacks getting worse because there is no support from them and not being critical of their own people. Maybe the President Obama will be an excellent role model for them and have no reason that many black men are ending up in jails. African Blacks who immigrate to USA do not have the inferiority complex as American blacks because they come from countries in Africa were are the majority in their own society.
Yes sometimes I am bias or racist in situations when groups such as Latinos who are not willing to learn English, thats we end up with bi-lingual signs in English and Spanish in schools, hospitals, fast food restaurants, no smoking and snaitary signs and etc....., they screw your orders in fast food, you will never find latinos in restaurants as waiters only cooks because they are terrible in customer service, Koreans never smile when you go to their Dry Cleaners and convenient stores, blacks will trash their tables when they leave a restaurant because they are always angry for what the white people did to them and they carry it with them through generations and do not look how to improve their lives as if the white people have to continue to pay for ancestors mistakes, even Thomas Jefferson who is one of the founders of USA is a racist and hypocrite and is the one who wrote the Declration of Indepence.
