Wives Of Kings & Presidents!

Salam, it has a been a while since I blogged which was due to spending sometime with the family and loosing the blogging bug a bit!
A good friend has sent me a funny Email which I thought I would share with you, the Email was in Arabic but I have translated it to English to the best of my knowledge, hope you enjoy:

==============================

Wives of Kings and Presidents

Sheikha Moza, wife of the Amir of Qatar
Glum!

Princess Haya, wife of the ruler of Dubai
He really chose well

Wife of the Algerian President
They suit each other!

Queen Lalla Salma, wife of the King of Morocco
Why so angry?

Safiya, wife of President of Libya
And people wonder why he is so confused!!

Queen Rania, wife of the king of Jordon
Just great

Susan, wife of the President of Egypt
So cool!

Wife of the President of Sudan
What's up Man?

Asma, wife of the President of Syria
She doesn't look Syrian!

Laila, wife of the President of Tunisia
Wow!

Suha, wife of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat
What did she see in him!!

And finally, the prettiest Queen voted for the year 2008 (and I could not agree more)

Her Majesty, Queen Mobutu Sisi Kuku, Queen of Congo Brazzaville
I think she looks very sweet :o)

Luna, Assad's wife may be British by nationality but her parents are both Syrian.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asma_al-Assad

Asma is the daughter of prominent Syrian cardiologist Fawaz Akhras, member of a Muslim Arab family locally prominent in Homs. Asma was born as Asma Akhras and was known to many as "Emma".[1] She is from the west London suburb of Acton. Although she is now known as "Asma al-Assad", there is no rule or clause in the Syrian law for a woman to adopt her husband's surname after marriage.

AL, really interesting compilation there! Half of the wives seem to be hotties and half of them hideous! I won't make any assumptions about who grabbed a trophy wife and who married for love! :)

Αρετή Κυρηνεία it is a good laugh and I do actually like the African queen, something really sweet about her :o)

Hannu, thanks and good to have you back :o)

Luna, you are right about Queen Rania, she is not just a pretty face, she has done a lot for her country too, more than her husband I think.
Yes Asma Al-Asad is British by birth but as Programer Craig said, her parents are Syrian, I know a friend who knows her father personally, they live in Acton which an area where many Arabs live :o)

DTD, شنو يا زوول is exactly what was written in Arabic in the Email, I thought "whats up man" is the closest to that :o)

Programmer Craig, good to see you again and thanks for the information.
I think Trophy wife would win by far in the case of trophy or love :o)

elekomm - إليكــم welcome to my blog :o)

Asma Al-Assad's family is from Homs, that's why Syrians pretend they've refrained from joking about the
حماصنة
and BTW, our Septimius Severus second wife, Julia Domna, is from Emessa(ancient Homs).
and Asma al_Assad is undoubtely the most educated among all the Arab 1st ladies.

I just looove Queen Rania. I met her once in person, and by accident "not that I'm an important person" :) It was more like a "wrong place, wrong time" sort of thing :) I was just so lucky. Nice blog you have there. I do read your posts from time to time. I'm Chaotik by the way, originally from Palestine, currently a Jordanian citizen, have a green card, lived in Libya for 16 years but now I live in Switzerland ;)
