Queen Fatima of Libya

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

"كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ

"صدق الله العظيم

It is with great regret to read the news of the passing away of Queen Fatima Al-Shifa Al-Sinousi, wife of Libya's late King Idris Al-Sinousi.

Queen Fatima died today in a hospital in Cairo after she fell ill last month, Queen Fatima was born in 1911 and left Libya in 1969 with her husband the King, they both never returned back to their beloved Libya.
Queen Fatima is to be buried in Medina in Saudi Arabia.

Here is a link of a post I did about her which includes rare pictures of a lady that shunned the lime light and lived her life quietly in Egypt refusing to get into any media interviews or comments, she had a dignified life, an elegant beautiful lady that was never to see Libya again.

A friend of mine left this comment on my facebook which I think says it all:

"I feel today that a page of our history has been turned for good. A nice and a clean one, representing all the hopes we had for our country and the future ...رحم الله الملكة فاطمة و اسكنها فسيح جناته "

It is the saddest thing to hear. She had wished to see the beloved land of Libya but was never able to. May she rest in peace and receive the mercy of Allah.

God bless her. May she rest peacefully knowing that people everywhere respected her. She was a lovely woman. Insha'allah Allah (SWT) rewards her for all the good deeds she has done and for the hardships she has endured.

RIP, alf rahma alayha.
Queen Fatima was our neighbour for as long as I can remember, and looking back, her humility and grace was obvious to me even as a kid. I am honoured to have known such an exemplary neighbour, a woman devoted to charitable works who no doubt suffered throughout her life. I don't think I'll ever forget her.

So sorry for to hear such sad news ...

She was the a grand lady with great love and affection for her people.

I met her once with my grandmother who was at the time headmistress of the Libyan Teachers School ,when I was 10 years,;there was a glitter in her eyes that I have never forgotten till this day.

As I was introduced to her ,I did a small bow and was going to kiss her hand ,but she wouldn't let me and she the queen kissed me on my forehead. I remembering going home never wanting to wash my forehead ever! That's how simple and grand she was.......
May she rest in peace....
