My younger brother got married in Tripoli 2 days ago, I thought long and hard about going back to attend the wedding but it didn't happen, the children wanted to go too but they had school and it is not easy to take time off school here, we all felt a bit upset that we couldn't be with the family at this happy occasion, I wish my brother and his wife the best inshaAllah.Sometimes I think that if going back to Libya for a short visit was straight forward then I would do it but I am worried about the delays and obstacles that might be thrown at me while there which could keep me stuck in the country for weeks when I really need to get back here and be with my family, I have friends from other countries that go back and forward between the UK and their country of origin with no questions asked and can stay for as long or as short as they want, perhaps when this is what it would be like in Libya then I will take the big step and go back for a short visit.

Remember Susan Boyle? I wrote about this talented lady here, after disappearing for months, she has made a come back and is releasing an album next week titled I Dreamed A Dream, which is the song that made her the most famous woman on earth over night.
Here is Susan singing at her best "I dreamed a dream" a week ago at the Dancing with the Stars TV program:

Congratulations to your brother (is it Amer by the way?) I wish him all the happiness with his future wife. My younger brother who got married couple years had had his wedding during school time as most hotels in Tripoli were booked during the summer , so we end up not going to his wedding, but these things happens specially when you have young children you have to plan your holiday to coincides with theirs.
Regarding going back, well my friend it is a hard decision and it will get harder the longer you leave it, and its only yourself who would decide to go or not, I was at the same situation, one day I decided to bite the bullet sort of speak and went for it, but first I went by myself to test the water, and it was fine so the next time I brought the family with me and it became a normal routine gonging back and forth with no problems apart from the waiting for you luggage... etc, for sure things are changed since the last time I been there, when I used the dreadful boat from Malta, it was my longest ever journey inside a boat during a very hot summer day but Alhamdulillah these days are gone for good, my best wishes to you all.
