They read to me like the script of a grade-B Syrian TV program. For example, read the following:<BR/><BR/> ورجت له نفسه رجة جعلته يقف أمام الحضور ويصرخ بأعلى صوته : لقد دخلت الإسلام وآمنت بهذا القرآن<BR/><BR/>[Can you hear the distorted audio of the screaming score in the background?]<BR/><BR/>In fact, whether Dr. Bucaille ever converted to Islam is not well established at all even after it has been a point of debate for quite a few years.<BR/><BR/>When you dig deeper in these pieces, you invariably confirm their falsehood. According to the above piece, Bucaille converted to Islam in or after 1981, then he spent about a decade studying the Quran and checking it for consistency with modern science, and ultimately publishing a book about that subject. That means his book had to be published no sooner than 1991. In fact his book was published in 1976, five years before the above account even begins! In that period he was also employed as the private doctor for King Faisal of Saudi Arabia.<BR/><BR/>Here is a little more melodramatics for you:<BR/><BR/>خرج بتأليف كتاب عن القرآن الكريم هز الدول الغربية قاطبة ورج علماءها رجا ، لقد كان عنوان الكتاب : القرآن والتوراة والإنجيل والعلم .. دراسة الكتب المقدسة في ضوء المعارف الحديثة ، فماذا فعل هذا الكتاب؟من أول طبعة له نفد<BR/><BR/>If Bucaille's book "shook" the scientific ommunity in the West, as claimed above, then it must have been one of the best kept secrets in science! That's absolutely pathetic propaganda. Who, I wonder, has kept the rattled scientists hushed up all this time? Are they still in "shock"? I know, I know, they are silenced by the CIA. OK, Mossad? Or, as Church Lady would say, could it be SATAN?<BR/><BR/> Has anyone ever found a cure for a disease based on the Quran? Has anyone invented any new scientific theory based on Quranic text? Has anyone ever made a scientific prediction based on knowledge gained from the Quran? The answer to all of those questions is: No, never! And it was never done based on any other holy book, and certainly not for lack of miraculous claims based on those other holy books. The real point of science is not just to rationalize the past, the real test is predicting future behavior. This industry of attributing hidden scientific secrets to holy books confirms only one thing: Hindsight is 20/20, but science is about foresight. The problem is, in the Islamic world, this kind of propaganda has a big market, even among people formally trained in the physical, biological and medical sciences. Or maybe that is just par for the course because one never hears of scientific miracles in the Quran about social sciences and humanities. That of course is a "faithful" reflection of Arab/Muslim mentality about what constitutes progress and science, not at all because those non-physical sciences are not fields of important discovery. Why hasn't anyone found a miracle in legalizing slavery, for example, or polygamy, or owning an unlimited number of concubines, or having multiple penalties for the same crime (full for free people, and a 50% discount for slaves), all of which are quite explicitly (no codes) stated and mandated in the Quran?
